Governor Jim Doyle announced today the appointment of David T. Kaminski as Sheriff in Rusk County. Kaminski, who has served as an Investigator in the Rusk County Sheriff Department since 1996, will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dean Meyer.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of David Kaminski as Rusk County Sheriff," Governor Doyle said. "With more than 20 years experience in Rusk County Law Enforcement, he brings strong leadership and management philosophies. I am confident he will ensure quality law enforcement services to the citizens of Rusk County."
"I would like to thank the Governor and his staff, my wife Janet and my children in addition to everyone who supported my decision to apply for the position of Rusk County Sheriff," Kaminski said. "I am honored to accept this position and will work diligently to continue to serve the citizens of Rusk County and provide them the continued level of service they have received."
Kaminski will begin serving immediately, and will complete a term ending December 31, 2006.
David Kaminski has served as an Investigator for the Rusk County Sheriff Department since 1996. Kaminski has worked in Law Enforcement his entire career, beginning in 1983. He has also been involved in the community, participating in 4H activities, the Rusk County Wildlife Restoration Association Board of Directors, and the Flambeau Valley Duck’s Unlimited Chapter. Kaminski earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in 1982 from University of Minnesota-Minneapolis and has since completed various specialized Law Enforcement Training classes. Kaminski and his wife Janet live in Weyerhaeuser and have three children.
